Recruit is proud to announce a regional revitalization agreement with Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, signed on May 24th, 2023. The agreement, aimed at promoting regional retention and employment, seeks to revitalize the region through collaborative efforts. As part of the company's efforts to create employment opportunities in numerous areas across Japan, this marks the 11th instance of cooperation with local governments and organizations and the first in the Kanto region since signing a similar agreement with Kawaminami Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, in February 2020.
Background and Objectives
One of the main reasons for population decline is the migration of people to urban areas, which is attributed to various factors, including the deterioration of social conditions, a decreasing number of people moving into the area, as well as the outflow of the population due to better opportunities for higher education and employment in urban centers. The lack of viable employment options in rural areas has also contributed significantly to the outflow of the regional population, exacerbating the issue of population decline(*1) . One potential solution is to disseminate compelling information about available job opportunities so the region can better compete with urban areas and retain its population. This approach not only helps to address the problem of population decline but also contributes to the overall revitalization of the region.
Given the limited progress in the digitization of recruitment operations in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and regional areas, we believe that our Air BusinessTools, a business and management support service, and our expertise in human resources solutions can play a crucial role in promoting migration and regional settlement while contributing to the revitalization of the region. By leveraging our resources and know-how, we can help SMEs in the region to digitize their recruitment processes and attract talent to the area, which in turn can create new opportunities for employment and economic growth. We aim to support the regional revitalization of Chichibu City by facilitating local business employment and contributing to the region's long-term sustainability.
