Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. (Recruit; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masumi Minegishi) has underwritten third-party allocation of shares in bitFlyer Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuzo Kano), a bitcoin sales, purchase and payment service provider, through its investment subsidiary RSP Fund No. 5, LLC.

1. Goal of this investment

Through underwriting the third-party allocation of shares, Recruit Holdings, together with bitFlyer Inc., is planning to increase the presence of the company's Bitcoin platform in anticipation that the market of the technology will grow globally. Through this funding, bitFlyer Inc. plans to promote the development of new products and expand its customer base.

bitFlyer Inc. aims to deliver a digital currency called bitcoin to as many users as possible and provide sales, purchase and payment services. Users are able to purchase and make payments in bitcoins from their bank accounts in Japan by using an application (app) on smartphones. The Company's management team, with work experience at overseas financial institutions, designs and operates services in-house, focusing on security, and has been serving many users since the Company's inception in April 2014.
