On February 27th, Recruit announced the integration of AirWAIT, a reception management application that solves the frustration of waiting in line, with Symview, a web-based medical interview system developed by LAYERED Inc. The integration enables web-based medical interviews before visits or during waiting, streamlining healthcare provider and patient efforts.

    Overview

The AirWAIT simplifies the reception process for patients visiting medical institutions. By using a tablet or other device provided, patients can complete the reception process and then monitor their waiting time through a call notification on their smartphone or on the hospital display. This empowers patients to effectively manage their time outside the hospital.

Web medical interviews can be conducted directly from AirWAIT waiting status check screen

Thanks to the integration with Symview, medical interviews can now be completed during the waiting time without the need for a separate location. Patients can seamlessly proceed to the web interview directly from the AirWAIT waiting status check screen. This feature is particularly useful for medical institutions that use AirWAIT's online system, allowing patients to complete the registration process and web interview prior to their visit.

The benefits of this new feature extend beyond time and effort savings associated with paper-based forms in waiting rooms. Symview's database includes a comprehensive list of diseases that are commonly encountered in outpatient consultations and is equipped with diagnostic inference logic for each symptom and disease. This means that the system can automatically determine the most appropriate questions to ask patients with specific conditions, eliminating the need for patients to worry about providing detailed information.

Further enhancement of operational efficiency in medical institutions by eliminating electronic medical record transcription and paper ledger management

AirWAIT also further improves the operational efficiency of medical institutions. Previously, traditional paper questionnaires required nurses or receptionists to manually transcribe patient information into electronic medical records, which was both time-consuming and error-prone. However, with Symview's system, the need for transcription and paper ledger management is eliminated as patient information is directly imported into the electronic medical record. This reduction in administrative tasks enables reception staff and nurses to focus on their core responsibilities, such as supporting doctors, attending to seriously ill patients, and managing accounting work.

    Background

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the national agenda for Medical DX, medical institutions have been expanding their online services to reduce waiting times and avoid crowded areas. AirWAIT, a platform designed to reduce waiting times in medical facilities, has been instrumental in achieving these goals by improving reception management and reducing the three C's (confined spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings) between patients and staff. By linking AirWAIT with external systems such as ORCA and PHC, the platform has also contributed to the DX of medical institutions.

To further support medical DX initiatives, AirWAIT has partnered with Symview to integrate web-based medical interviews with reception management. This collaboration will enable a more efficient collection of necessary medical examination information while simplifying the reception process for both medical institutions and patients. As the government has set medical DX as a national priority, this partnership between AirWAIT and Symview is poised to facilitate further reforms and advancements in the medical industry.

    About AirWAIT

AirWAIT is a reception management application that solves the frustration of waiting in line, allowing smart reception management without paper ledgers or expensive dedicated terminals, as long as you have an iPad and a printer. The service was launched in November 2014 and is being introduced in a wide range of industries, from restaurants, retail, and services to clinics and dispensing pharmacies.

With AirWAIT, reception operations can be streamlined with simple operations from receiving to calling, and reception data can be analyzed to improve operations and contribute to increased customer satisfaction. External monitor output and multilingual support are also available. By using the online order reception system, customers can check the congestion status on the website without visiting a store, and can easily take their turn. By eliminating congestion and systematizing the guidance system, customers are no longer kept waiting in the store or waiting room, which also helps to prevent infection.

Stores that have introduced the system have commented that they have "been able to reduce labor costs equivalent to one receptionist," that "sales have increased by 120% due to a significant increase in the number of customers over the previous year," and that "customer satisfaction has improved due to reduced complaints and anxiety about congestion."

Air BusinessTools, which also includes AirWAIT, reduces the time, labor, and costs associated with analog business operations, from reservation and reception management, accounting, and payment, to recruitment, shift management, financing, and billing.

We will continue to support business owners in operating their businesses as they envision them and creating stores that are uniquely their own.
